It was a record-breaking night for DC 4 players, as the District of Columbia Lottery announced lucky winners received over $1 million in prizes thanks to a quadruple number being drawn!

The record-breaking draw

On Sunday, September 22, the 11:30 p.m. drawing for the DC 4 game was 8-8-8-8. Those quadruple numbers always pay well and this was no different, as the District of Columbia Lottery had approximately 232 winning tickets sold for the September 22 drawing.

Those 232 winning tickets resulted in the District of Columbia Lottery paying out a combined $1.07 million in prizes.

With that big payout, it passed the previous Night drawing record, which was won on March 3, 2024, when the winning numbers 9-9-9-9 came up.

DC 4 details

For those not familiar, the District of Columbia Lottery added the 11:30 p.m. drawing to the daily schedule of its DC 4 game on August 13, 2023. This was done to give players more chances to win with one of the jurisdiction's most popular games.

DC 4 is a four-digit game that offers 11 different ways to win, with a single top prize of $5,000. The other additional prizes vary from $100 up to $2,500, based on how much you wager per ticket.

You can wager as little as $.50 per draw, and the drawings for DC 4 take place three times every day at 1:50 p.m., 7:50 p.m., and 11:30 p.m. Tickets for DC 4 can be purchased on the District of Columbia Lottery website or any of their retailers.

The record might not last long

While the DC 4 players are enjoying their big win during the late-night DC 4 drawing, that record payout may have only lasted one day!

On Monday, September 23, the Evening draw for the DC 4 game also saw quadruple numbers show up! Back-to-back nights, as 2-2-2-2 came up during the 7:50 p.m. ET drawing.

District of Columbia Lottery officials have not released how many tickets won during this draw, but it could surpass the number of lucky winners during the 8-8-8-8 draw. If so, we can see the popularity of this draw game going up even more for DC Lottery players. Can they go for three days in a row for quadruple numbers?

DC 5 brings a big win

The District of Columbia Lottery also shared some exciting news for one lucky player. JoAnne K. happened to win $25,000 playing the DC 5 draw game.

She made her way to the state lottery headquarters to collect her winnings. The native Washingtonian said she enjoys playing the lottery and started playing after she was introduced to the games by her boyfriend. She bought the winning ticket from Chesapeake Big Market, located at 601 Chesapeake St. SE in Washington, DC.

Now that she has her winnings in hand, she said she plans on sharing part of her good fortune with her family and then saving the remainder.
