It was a record-breaking night in Canada and now two lucky players are celebrating after splitting the $80 million Lotto Max jackpot!

Biggest Lotto Max jackpot ever

For the first time ever, the 加拿大28预测开奖:Lotto Max jackpot in Canada made its way to $80 million for last night’s drawing (Tuesday, September 17). With all the buzz around this draw game, the night ended with two winning tickets — one sold in Ontario and one sold in Quebec — splitting the biggest jackpot in Canadian Lottery history, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

The winning numbers for the September 17 drawing of Lotto Max were 2, 4, 11, 16, 25, 29, and 47, and the Bonus number was 34.

Two lucky winners matched all of the winning numbers to each take home $40 million each. One lucky winner was from Grey County in Ontario and the other lucky winner was from Quebec.

Because of the number of ticket sales, OLG officials said the number of maximilian prizes reached 24. There were four maxmillion tickets sold in Ontario, which were sold in Guelph, Whitby, Toronto, and the fourth on the OLG website.

Lotto Max jackpot ceiling increased

Before this record-breaking win in Canada, lottery officials decided to increase the maximum jackpot amount for the Lotto Max game. Previously the maximum jackpot prize for the draw game could be $70 million, but it was upped to $80 million and it paid off for these two lucky winners.

OLG said they wanted to keep the games fresh and make it more interesting for the players. Spokesperson Tony Bitonti told CTV News that they “raised the jackpot cap to $60 million and then a few years ago to $70 million, and now the next progression is going to be $80 million.”

More lucky winners

In addition to the two lucky winners that split the $80 million jackpot, there were some other big winners in last night’s Lotto Max drawing.

The OLG stated there were some big Encore winners in the mix, with one Encore prize worth $1 million being sold in the Greater Sudbury area. There was also an Encore ticket worth $100,000 sold in Toronto and on the OLG website.

Lottery officials said there was also a second prize Lotto Max ticket sold in Peterborough County, which was worth $293,334.

With the jackpot win, the Lotto Max jackpot will now be worth $22 million for Friday’s drawing.

Earlier Lotto Max winner claims jackpot

While we wait to see who these two lucky winners are from last night’s Lotto Max drawing, the OLG did announce who the lucky winner of the $70 million Lotto Max draw from August 20.

It seems like it was the perfect time for these big winners, as a couple from Iroquois Falls, Ontario, were the lucky ticket holders. The couple just returned from a Toronto hospital, where they had a newborn baby, to find out they won the big jackpot.

The big win also happened to be the first lottery ticket ever purchased by 39-year-old Kyle Murray. He purchased the winning ticket from Esso, located on Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins, Ontario.

The lucky couple used the OLG app to scan their ticket and heard the “Winner/Gagnant” sound and soon realized they had won the jackpot!
